Rouaisouns 2019 - Fête Nouormande

Lé tchu d'sémaine pâssé j''tais à Moundebou pouor la Fête Nouormande, la Fête des Rouaisouns. Y'avait tout pliein d'activités. J'présentis eune pièche en Jèrriais et prîns par dans eune ronde tabl'ye entouor la plotique et l'avanchement d'la langue Nouormande. Et j'triyis eune vaque (eune Jèrriaise) pouor la preunmié fais!

L'année tchi veint, la fête èrveindra en Jèrri (du 7 au 14 dé Juîn 2020, en prîncipe)

Dia de Camões

Happy Day of Portugal, Camões, and the Portuguese Communities!

I've previously translated some Camões sonnets into Jèrriais, and here's a version of "Mudão-se os tempos, mudão-se as vontades" that I've done in time for this year's celebration of Portugal's national poet:

Les temps changent, épis d'même i' change, man d'si;
êt' - ch'est d'changi; changeant, ch'est d'nos y fier.
Dé chu changement tout l'monde entchi est grée
en nouvelles qualités, tréjous changi.
J'viyons tout l'temps tout l'tou des niv'lot'ties
tchi n'sont janmais chein qu'j'avons espéthé,
et not' mémouaithe par du ma est grînmée -
du bein (s'i' y'en a ieu), y'a raîque d'l'envie.
Atout un vèrt manté l'temps abrie l'aithe
tchi soulait êt' couèrte dé né en fraide couoche.
Au run d'chanter douochement j'sis raîque à braithe;
chein tchi m'sembliait fitchi, ch'est chein tch'êlouoche.
Ch'est en tchi si tout change s'lon ma mémouaithe,
au temps tchi couort la chang'gie est pus douoche.

Election results

Results were not what I'd worked for, but thanks to supporters and congratulations to the winning candidate. Looks like I'll be continuing to work from the Parish side for the new law on the administration of Saint Helier and the powers of the new elected body in order to more effectively provide services at the local level and ensure our Parish has the clout it needs as a small modern European capital with a thriving economy and culture.
