This piece was commissioned for an exhibition (& book) to mark the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War (text is in the book 100 Poems):
Exhibition 2014:
This poem, written against the background of the centenary of the start of the First World War, is more symbolic about birds and war.
GW de Carteret wrote (published 12/12/1914): "La patrie est en dangi et l'rêsultat d'chutte dgèrre-chîn s'sa ressenti par vos d'cendants pouor pus d'un siècl'ye". This sentence inspired this poem:
